James Ingram — It's Your Night
Produced by Quincy Jones

James Ingram was no unknown when this debut album was released. He had been the featured vocalist on Quincy Jones' The Dude and had two hit duets with Patti Austin: Baby Come To Me and How Do You Keep The Music Playing; the latter featured on this album. As you would expect, the ballads like She Loves Me and Whatever We Imagine are gorgeous. But you may be pleasantly surprised by the rest of Ingram's repertoire: There's a great big band number One More Rhythm written by Rod Temperton and featuring legendary organist Jimmy Smith. Other featured players include Michael McDonald (duets on Yah Mo B There) and Ernie Watts (saxophone solo on Try Your Love Again).
